Uttarakhand Silver Jubilee celebration

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday personally inspected the Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun, the venue for the upcoming Uttarakhand Silver Jubilee celebration, to review final preparations for the grand state-level event to be held on November 9.

The celebration, marking 25 years since Uttarakhand’s formation, will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest. The historic event will highlight the state’s remarkable journey of growth, resilience, and achievement over the past two and a half decades.

Our correspondent reports that after participating in the special session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly earlier in the day, Chief Minister Dhami reached the FRI campus to conduct a ground inspection. He reviewed arrangements related to security, audience seating, cultural stage preparation, traffic management, and hospitality arrangements.

The Chief Minister directed all departments to ensure meticulous coordination and timely completion of all preparations. He emphasised that the event should reflect the pride and unity of Uttarakhand and be organised in a graceful, secure, and well-structured manner.

“This Silver Jubilee celebration symbolises 25 years of Uttarakhand’s development, struggle, and success. With the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the event will be an inspiring milestone for the entire state,” the Chief Minister said during his visit.

He added that the programme would showcase Uttarakhand’s progress across sectors such as infrastructure, tourism, environment, and social development. He said the event would also highlight the spirit of the people who contributed to building the state and shaping its identity as Devbhoomi.

Officials informed that the FRI campus is being decorated to host thousands of guests from across the state. The main stage will feature cultural performances, traditional folk dances, and multimedia presentations narrating Uttarakhand’s evolution since its creation in November 2000.

Our correspondent adds that the Information and Public Relations Department is setting up a digital exhibition at the venue to present milestones from the state’s journey — from infrastructure and education to women’s empowerment and disaster management.

Senior officials, including Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey (Secretary), Vinay Shankar Pandey (Garhwal Commissioner), Rajeev Swaroop (IG Garhwal), and Banshidhar Tiwari (Additional Secretary), accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection. Each department has been assigned specific roles to ensure smooth execution of arrangements and adherence to national-level protocol standards.

The state police, intelligence agencies, and local administration have been instructed to work in close coordination to manage security and public movement. Special attention is being given to traffic diversions, parking facilities, and crowd management in and around the FRI premises.

The Silver Jubilee event will include a series of cultural and formal segments celebrating the state’s heritage, natural beauty, and developmental achievements. Folk artists will perform traditional dances like Chholiya and Langvir Nritya, while school and college troupes will present songs dedicated to the state’s heroes and culture.

Our correspondent reports that the Chief Minister also reviewed arrangements for the Prime Minister’s arrival and stay, ensuring that all security and hospitality protocols are strictly observed. The administration has been directed to maintain cleanliness and proper illumination across Dehradun city in view of the high-profile visit.

In addition to the main programme at FRI, simultaneous celebrations will be held across all 13 districts of Uttarakhand. Local cultural troupes and public representatives will participate in district-level events showcasing regional identity and progress.

Officials have said that this Silver Jubilee will be a “festival of pride, unity, and progress”, symbolising the collective aspirations of the people of Uttarakhand. The event will mark not just 25 years of statehood, but also the beginning of a new developmental vision for the next quarter-century.

As the Chief Minister concluded his inspection, he thanked the officials and citizens for their contribution to the state’s success and urged them to participate wholeheartedly in the upcoming celebrations.

Our correspondent adds that the state government views the Silver Jubilee as a moment to honour the sacrifices of those who fought for statehood and to reaffirm its commitment to sustainable growth, good governance, and public welfare.

With the Prime Minister’s participation, grand cultural showcases, and the majestic backdrop of the FRI, the November 9 event is set to become one of the most significant celebrations in Uttarakhand’s history which will be a tribute to its spirit, culture, and unwavering determination.
