Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday held a virtual interaction with citizens across all tehsils of Uttarakhand as part of the Tehsil Diwas programme. The session, conducted from the Chief Minister’s residence, aimed at directly addressing public grievances and ensuring timely solutions. Our correspondent reports that the Chief Minister heard issues raised by citizens and instructed officials to resolve them promptly at the local level.

Dhami emphasized that Tehsil Diwas serves as a strong platform for resolving people’s problems without forcing them to travel to district headquarters or government offices. He directed officials to treat all complaints with urgency and seriousness, ensuring follow-up so that no grievances remain pending. Our correspondent adds that the Chief Minister told officers that Tehsil Diwas reflects the government’s commitment to public service and must be made 100 percent effective.

During the dialogue, the Chief Minister also highlighted the need to identify ineligible individuals who have secured documents such as Ayushman cards, ration cards, residence, or caste certificates on false information. He reiterated that safeguarding the rights and resources of Uttarakhand’s citizens is the state government’s priority. Our correspondent reports that Dhami ordered strict action against encroachment on government land, riverbeds, and other public property, instructing officers to take immediate steps in such cases to prevent future disputes.

To expedite resolution of land-related disputes, Dhami announced the formation of committees at the tehsil level under the chairmanship of Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), with representatives from police, forest, and irrigation departments as members. These committees will be responsible for preventing encroachments on government land and settling disputes involving private properties. Our correspondent adds that the Chief Minister directed officers to attend Block Development Council and district panchayat meetings regularly so that grassroots problems can be identified and addressed with concrete action plans.

The Chief Minister also announced that on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a state-wide Seva Pakhwada (Service Fortnight) will be observed. He urged citizens to participate actively in these programmes, describing them as an important way to unite society and promote a spirit of service.

Touching on the ongoing challenges of natural disasters in the state, Dhami stressed that assessing losses and speeding up relief and reconstruction work must remain the government’s highest priority. He directed officials and public representatives to maintain constant communication with affected families and to visit disaster-hit areas to ensure assistance reaches those in need.

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, DGP Deepam Seth, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli and Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, and officers from every tehsil joined the programme virtually. Local citizens across the state also took part, voicing concerns directly to the Chief Minister.
