Pilgrims preparing for the Chardham Yatra 2025 will soon be able to secure their helicopter tickets. The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority has announced that booking will open from 10 September 2025. Flights will operate between 15 September and 10 October, with tickets available through the IRCTC’s official portal.
CEO Ashish Chauhan confirmed that helicopter services will connect pilgrims to Kedarnath from Guptkashi, Phata and Sirsi, and to Hemkund Sahib from Govindghat to Ghangharia. Current one-way fares have been fixed at ₹8,532 from Guptkashi to Kedarnath, ₹6,062 from Phata, ₹6,060 from Sirsi, and ₹10,080 per passenger from Govindghat to Ghangharia.
Officials noted that the number of seats this season will be fewer than in previous years, which could push fares higher. Despite this, demand is expected to be strong as the helicopter service remains a vital lifeline for thousands of devotees, particularly the elderly and those unable to trek long distances.
For many pilgrims, the helicopter service is not just a matter of convenience but a crucial support in undertaking the sacred journey. By reducing the physically demanding trek and saving valuable time, these flights ensure that more devotees, regardless of age or health, can complete their yatra with dignity and devotion.
With bookings about to open, anticipation is building among yatris across the country who now look forward to a smoother passage to Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib.
