India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch tomorrow.
The weather department has also predicted heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, along with the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, for the next 2 days.
According to IMD, thunderstorms and lightning conditions are expected in parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh during the next 2 to 3 days.
Monsoon was vigorous over Gujarat region and Saurashtra-Kutch.
Extremely heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Dadra Nagar Haveli of South Gujarat region; in the district of Gir Somnath of Saurashtra and in Diu.
Very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Valsad district and Dadra Nagar Haveli of South Gujarat
region; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Gir Somnath and Junagadh.
Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Dahod, Valsad, Bharuch,
Narmada, Surat and in Daman; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Dwarka, Junagadh and Gir Somnath. Rainfall occurred at most places over Gujarat region and Saurashtra; at many places over Kutch.
Synoptic Situation:
- The line of withdrawal of southwest monsoon continues to pass through 20°N/ 69°E, Veraval, Bharuch, Ujjain, Jhansi, Shahjahanpur and 30°N/81°E.
- The well-marked low-pressure area persists over Gulf of Cambay & neighbourhood at 1430 hours IST of today, the 29th September 2025 and the associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
- It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards
across Saurashtra and emerge into northeast Arabian sea around 1st October, 2025. - There is a possibility of its intensification into a depression around the time of emergence into the northeast Arabian sea.
- A trough from the well-marked low-pressure area over Gulf of Cambay and neighbourhood to west central Bay of Bengal across south Gujarat, Vidarbha, south Chhattisgarh, south Odisha, north
Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists. - An upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge into north Andaman Sea on 30th September. Under its influence a low-pressure area is likely to form over north & adjoining central Bay of Bengal around 01st October 2025.
