In Uttarakhand, light rains have been continuing since this afternoon in the state capital, Dehradun, and other plain areas of the state. While snowfall has also been reported in some places in the high-altitude areas.
Director of the Meteorological Centre in Dehradun, Vikram Singh, said that there is a possibility of heavy snowfall tomorrow in the areas of the state with an altitude of more than 2500m. Also, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the lower areas.
In view of the warning of the IMD, most of the district administrations have deployed machines and workers to clean the roads in the snow-covered areas of the state.
Bonfires have also been arranged at the main intersections to protect the public from the cold. Apart from this, warm clothes, blankets, and other essential items are being distributed to the needy.
