In a fresh development in the UKSSSC paper leak case, a single-member commission is scheduled to conduct a public hearing in Dehradun tomorrow to hear complaints and facts related to the scandal. The move comes after sustained pressure from aspirants and public protests over the September 21 exam leak.
Our correspondent reports that the commission is headed by Justice U. C. Dhyani, a retired judge of the Uttarakhand High Court. During the hearing, he is expected to receive representations from affected students, parents, education stakeholders and whistleblowers. The gathering will be held at the IRD auditorium at Survey Chowk in Dehradun.
The commission has already conducted public hearings in Haldwani and Tehri prior to this. Tomorrow’s event is intended as a key step in ensuring transparency and accountability in the investigation process.
Our correspondent adds that the one-member commission was constituted following recommendations by the state government. This was in addition to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe and the CBI inquiry recommended by the Chief Minister. The commission’s remit includes gathering testimonies, reviewing evidence and making recommendations for future corrective measures.
Many youth groups and job aspirants have welcomed the decision. They see the public hearing as a forum where their grievances can be heard directly by the commission. They hope the findings will strengthen the overall probe and help provide justice to those affected by the alleged malpractice.
Officials confirmed that all participants must register in advance to present their submissions. The commission may impose time limits per speaker to ensure orderly proceedings. Security arrangements will be in place, and seating will be allotted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Observers note that the success of the hearing may depend on how openly witnesses offer evidence and how the commission handles conflicting claims. The commission’s recommendations may feed into subsequent investigations by SIT and CBI.
As tensions simmer over delayed exams and uncertain futures, tomorrow’s public hearing represents a critical moment in the continuing saga. For thousands of job aspirants in Uttarakhand, it could mark a turning point in the quest for fairness and clarity.
