CM Dhami Reviews Relief Operations in Flood-Hit Chamoli

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday reviewed relief and rescue operations in the rain-ravaged villages of Nandanagar in Chamoli district from the State Emergency Operation Centre, Dehradun. He directed officials to accelerate evacuation efforts and ensure immediate support for affected families.

Our correspondent reports that Dhami remained in constant touch with the disaster operation centre and district administration since morning. He instructed that severely injured victims be airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh for advanced treatment. “Every life is precious, and we will make sure the injured get the best medical facilities without delay,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister also stressed the rapid restoration of essential services like road connectivity, electricity, water supply, and mobile networks. “The government is committed to restoring normalcy at the earliest. Relief and rehabilitation will be taken up with full sensitivity and urgency,” Dhami assured.

He further ordered that proper arrangements for shelter, food, clean drinking water, and medical facilities be provided in the affected regions. Our correspondent adds that the Chief Minister emphasized the deployment of adequate doctors and medicines to meet any emergency needs.

Our correspondent reports that soon after the incident, the district administration and police launched a massive evacuation drive, shifting several people to safety. Relief materials are being delivered to the affected families, with Dhami directing officials to ensure no household is left out. “The government stands shoulder to shoulder with every affected family. Relief must reach all villages without exception,” he instructed.

Our correspondent adds that the Chief Minister assured rehabilitation and restoration would be carried out on priority and reiterated the government’s commitment to stand firmly with disaster-hit citizens.

The meeting was attended by Disaster Management Advisory Committee Vice President Vinay Rohilla, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, and other senior officials.
