CM Dhami Directs Swift Relief After Cloudbursts in Four Uttarakhand Districts

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to ensure immediate relief and rescue operations after reports of cloudbursts in Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri, and Bageshwar districts. According to our correspondent, the Chief Minister held a high-level disaster management meeting at his residence on Friday, where he emphasized that all basic facilities in affected regions must be restored without delay.

Urgent Instructions to District Magistrates

The Chief Minister personally spoke with district magistrates of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri, and Bageshwar. He instructed them to:

  • Evacuate affected families to safe locations promptly.

  • Conduct relief operations at rapid speed with no scope for delay.

  • Ensure that roads, electricity, and drinking water supply disrupted by the heavy rains are immediately restored.

He also sought updates from the District Magistrate of Nainital on rainfall conditions and the state of key road networks.

Relief and Compensation Measures

Dhami stressed that affected families must receive compensation quickly, as per established government norms. He directed officials to keep sufficient relief resources available and to remain on high alert for the entire monsoon season.

Our correspondent adds that the Chief Minister also instructed officers to make sure disaster management teams remain fully equipped with rescue gear, medical supplies, and emergency shelters. He reiterated that no family should feel abandoned during this critical time.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including:

  • Additional Director General of Police A.P. Anshuman

  • Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman

  • Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey

  • Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate

The Chief Minister reviewed district-wise reports virtually and urged authorities to coordinate closely with SDRF and NDRF teams for quick action.

Statewide Preparedness

The administration has been asked to maintain round-the-clock vigilance. The government has also reinforced its commitment to providing timely updates to the public, urging citizens not to take unnecessary risks in flood-prone or landslide-prone areas.
