CM Dhami Directs Swift Relief After Cloudburst in Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri

Following Thursday’s cloudbursts in several areas of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Tehri districts, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has immediately contacted the District Magistrates of the affected regions and have instructed them to conduct rescue and relief operations without delay and ensure that all affected people were moved to safe locations at the earliest.

The Chief Minister emphasized that there should be no lapse in providing timely assistance. He asked the officials to prioritize the safety of families and livestock and to make sure that emergency services are mobilized at full speed.

High-Level Disaster Management Meeting

The Chief Minister today held a high-level meeting on disaster management at the CM residence. He directed officials to make sure that all essential facilities in the disaster-affected areas, including roads, electricity supply, and drinking water, are restored immediately in case of disruption.

Through a virtual conference, CM Dhami also reviewed the situation directly with the District Magistrates of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Tehri. He instructed them to intensify relief operations further and deploy additional manpower wherever required.

Alert for Entire Monsoon Season

The Chief Minister made it clear that both the state administration and district administrations must remain on full alert throughout the monsoon season. He directed that all necessary resources for disaster management must be made available in advance.

CM Dhami also instructed officials to ensure that affected families receive financial compensation at the earliest as per government norms. He said the government will not tolerate any negligence in providing relief and rehabilitation support.

Officials Present

The meeting was attended by senior officials including Chief Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Principal Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Additional Director General of Police A.P. Anshuman, Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, and Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is fully committed to strengthening disaster preparedness and ensuring that every citizen in the hill districts feels secure during the monsoon season.
