Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials and district magistrates, stressing that the state’s top priority is to ensure timely relief, safety, and public services for citizens.

Our Correspondent reports that the Chief Minister directed post-monsoon reconstruction and repair works to be expedited, with administrative machinery kept in “active mode.” He instructed officials to maintain sufficient stocks of relief material and dry rations, and to provide proper arrangements for food, shelter, and essential facilities to disaster-affected people. Damage to crops, drinking water pipelines, and public property must be assessed swiftly and reported to the government, he added.

Dhami emphasised a strict ban on construction near rivers and streams, warning that officers who fail to enforce the rule will face accountability. He also ordered that compensation to disaster-hit families be disbursed without delay and asked district magistrates to conduct regular inspections of hospitals. Preventive measures against dengue, malaria, and water-borne diseases must be ensured, he said.

On law and order, the Chief Minister instructed strict action against those disturbing peace, as well as against unauthorised issuance of Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and connections. He called for increased vigilance in border areas, tighter checking, and action against suspicious activities, along with effective measures for cattle protection.

Dhami said local labour should be prioritised in government construction projects, and that street lighting must be ensured in both rural and urban areas. He also asked officials to ensure that the Char Dham Yatra operates smoothly after the rains, with pilgrims being informed promptly about adverse weather conditions.

The Chief Minister directed that each district submit a report on ongoing works and CM announcements within 15 days. He stressed regular gram sabha meetings, public hearings, and multipurpose camps at the local level to address citizens’ concerns.

Dhami further instructed comprehensive preparations for the upcoming “Seva Pakhwada” campaign, from September 17 (Prime Minister Modi’s birthday) to October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti), focusing on service, cleanliness, and public welfare. He asked district magistrates to personally participate in weekly cleanliness drives and ensure pothole-free roads as part of the campaign.

The Chief Minister also reviewed anti-corruption measures, instructing that actions under the 1905 CM Helpline and 1064 Anti-Corruption Campaign continue actively. He called for mock drills, disaster volunteer training, and crisis management exercises to strengthen preparedness. He also insisted that official certificates under the Right to Service be issued in the language requested—Hindi or English—and directed strict action against those involved in the manufacture or sale of spurious medicines, our correspondent adds.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, senior officials including R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagoli, DGP Deepam Seth, ADG A.P. Anshuman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, and other officials. Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat and all district magistrates joined virtually.
