Speaking on the importance of Indian culture in the modern world, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the “Indian culture is the mother of all cultures and represents a vast heritage of values, knowledge and spiritual depth.” He was addressing a gathering at the twelfth school annual function of Rishikesh International School in Dhalwala.
CM Dhami said that “under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation is moving forward with pride in its traditions.” “Children remain the true foundation of the nation. Students will one day enter several fields and bring recognition to the state and the country. Education must include discipline, values and service mindedness.”
Our correspondent reports that the Chief Minister inaugurated the twelfth annual function by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He congratulated the school management for organising the event and said, “children understand both artificial intelligence and the importance of yoga, values and simplicity.”
The Chief Minister said: “learning must go beyond employment. The aim of education is national development, moral growth and human welfare.” He said that the state government is committed to improving quality in the education sector.
Uttarakhand was the first state to implement the National Education Policy 2020. The policy will help students gain stronger academic skills and balanced growth. The government has signed agreements with several industrial institutions. These agreements will create new employment opportunities for youth. Training centres have been established to help young people develop start up ideas. The government continues to support innovation in every sector.”
Dwelling on the contribution of women to the education sector, the Chief Minister said, “women self help groups play a vital role in strengthening the state economy. The House of Himalayas initiative is supporting small groups and providing market access for their products. These efforts are helping families increase their income and improve their lives.”
Our correspondent adds that the Chief Minister also spoke about the strict anti-cheating law implemented in the state. He said, “After the enforcement of this law more than 26,000 youth have secured government jobs. The government remains committed to transparent recruitment and will continue to create fair and efficient systems.
Praising teachers for their service to society, the Chief Minister said, teachers help shape responsible citizens and guide students through several stages of growth. The government will support efforts that strengthen schools and encourage value based learning.”
During the event, students presented cultural performances on Indian traditions. School officials said that the programme helps students understand cultural heritage and develop confidence. They added that the school aims to promote academic excellence and holistic growth for all children.
Several dignitaries attended including, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, BJP District President Uday Singh Rawat, School Chairman Mohan Dang, District Magistrate of Tehri Nitika Khandelwal, Senior Superintendent of Police Ayush Agrawal and other guests.
