In a major move, the state government on Wednesday approved development projects worth ₹81.52 crore for multiple works across several districts. The decision was issued after Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami examined proposals under various state programmes and sanctioned the required financial provisions.

Our correspondent reports that the approvals cover a wide range of sectors including connectivity, urban development, bridge construction, police housing, waste management and modernisation of government facilities. Officials said the financial clearances demonstrate the government’s continued focus on improving essential infrastructure and strengthening service delivery in both urban and remote regions of Uttarakhand.

Under the Missing Link Funding Programme, the Chief Minister granted approval for the construction of the Gopinath Temple Road in Chamoli district. The project, which will follow traditional local architectural style, received nine crore and seventy nine lakh. Authorities said the work will support cultural identity while improving access to a prominent pilgrimage route.

Under the Fifth State Finance Commission, an amount of fifty four lakh and thirty seven thousand was sanctioned for the construction of shops at the fish market in Gularbhoj Nagar Panchayat. The project aims to develop the market area into an organised commercial zone that will support small traders and enhance local economic activity.

For urban sanitation efforts, the Chief Minister approved thirty three lakh and twenty six thousand under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban scheme. This amount is the central share allocated for the disposal of legacy waste at Kotdwar Municipal Corporation. Officials said the project is expected to improve waste management and support cleaner surroundings through scientific disposal methods.

Our correspondent adds that significant allocations were also approved under the state plan. These include nine crore and ninety eight lakh for a one hundred and twenty metre suspension footbridge over the Dhauli River near Jawagwad in the Badrinath Assembly constituency. The bridge will improve movement for residents and pilgrims, especially during adverse weather.

In Tehri Garhwal, the Chief Minister sanctioned three crore and thirty four lakh for the construction of the Thatyud to Marad motor road in the Dhanaulti Assembly constituency. Similarly, five crore and sixty four lakh were approved for completing the remaining work on the Talli Chamyaari to Rantakhal motor road in the Salt Assembly constituency of Almora district. These road projects are expected to enhance rural mobility and support tourism related movement.

A major portion of the approved funds will support police infrastructure. The Chief Minister provided fifty crore and seventy nine lakh for the construction of one hundred and twenty Type Two residential units at Police Lines in Race Course, Dehradun. Officials said the residential upgrade will improve housing conditions for police personnel.

For regional connectivity, an amount of twenty four lakh and sixty eight thousand was sanctioned for completing works at the Naukuchiatal helipad in Nainital district. The project includes an office building, a passenger resting facility and painting work on the helipad surface. Authorities said the enhanced facilities will support tourism and emergency operations.

The Chief Minister also approved eighty five lakh and sixty nine thousand for modern printing equipment at the Government Printing Press in Roorkee. The sanctioned machines include multifunction colour printers, digital printing systems and document duplicators. The upgrade is expected to improve the printing press capacity and support administrative efficiency.

Officials said the cleared projects represent a balanced development approach aimed at strengthening connectivity, supporting commerce, improving public services and creating better infrastructure across the state. Departments have been instructed to ensure timely execution and transparent utilisation of funds.
