Uttarakhand Silver Jubilee
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) organized a Drone Light Show today to celebrate the 25th year of Uttarakhand’s statehood. The show highlighted the rich cultural heritage, spiritual identity, and natural beauty of the state, while also marking a step towards innovative tourism promotion and emerging aerial technology.
The spectacle featured Make in India drones, forming more than a dozen dynamic aerial formations that lit up the evening sky. The show opened with a tribute to Devbhumi Uttarakhand, illustrating the descent of the holy River Ganga from Lord Shiva’s locks. This was followed by visuals representing 25 Years of Statehood, the OM Galaxy, the Trishul and Damru, and the revered shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Celebrating the state’s distinctive cultural symbols, the drones artistically shaped the Himalayan Monal (State Bird), the traditional Choliya dance, Uttarakhand’s folk musical instruments, the Laadi representation, and a figure of a man in traditional Kumaoni attire. The formations concluded with representations of helicopter aviation and the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation emblem, symbolizing growth, accessibility, and new horizons.
Speaking about the significance of the event, Additional Chief Executive Officer, UCADA, SS Tolia said:
“Uttarakhand is not only a land of divine heritage and natural abundance, but also a land that continues to innovate and rise. This Drone Light Show reflects our cultural identity while opening a new chapter for creative tourism experiences. As we celebrate 25 years of our state, we step into a future where tradition and technology grow together.”
The event highlighted the potential of drone-based visual storytelling to enhance tourism appeal through immersive and sustainable public showcases. The show featured over 300–400 Make in India drones, reflecting UCADA’s commitment to integrating technology with cultural representation.
The show was organized under the leadership of Secretary, Sachin Kurbe; Chief Executive Officer, Ashish Chauhan; Additional Chief Executive Officer, UCADA, SS Tolia; Head of Operations, Randhir Katoch; and Finance Controller, Deepak Chand Bhatt.
As the night sky of Dehradun glittered with symbols of devotion, progress, and pride, the Drone Light Show marked a fitting tribute to Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, a state where the spirit of the Himalayas meets the innovation of tomorrow.
