Delhi blast
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep sorrow over the explosion that occurred in Delhi, terming it a tragic and worrying incident. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
In the wake of the incident, the Chief Minister directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to place the entire state on high alert and to ensure strict vigilance across sensitive areas and border regions. He emphasised that public safety and peace must remain the topmost priority of the state administration.
CM Dhami stated that the Delhi explosion is a matter of grave concern and requires heightened readiness across all security and intelligence units. He instructed the police to enhance patrolling in crowded marketplaces, transport hubs, religious places, and public gatherings. The Chief Minister said that maintaining security in these areas is essential to prevent any untoward incident.
He further directed that all district police chiefs, intelligence officers, and border posts must remain in constant coordination to ensure a smooth and timely flow of information. Strict checks at entry and exit points have also been mandated.
“The safety of citizens is our government’s highest priority. There should be no negligence in maintaining peace and security anywhere in the state,” the Chief Minister said, urging officials to treat every input seriously and act promptly on suspicious activities.
Dhami also called for increased coordination between state and central security agencies, particularly given Uttarakhand’s geographical and strategic importance. He emphasised that vigilance at state borders, transport terminals, and tourist zones must be intensified.
Sources in the state police said that instructions have already been relayed to all district headquarters to maintain round-the-clock monitoring and deploy additional personnel where required. Security arrangements in Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Nainital, and Haldwani have been reviewed, with orders issued to ensure visible policing and public confidence.
The Chief Minister added that the police must remain alert not only to external threats but also to internal vulnerabilities, urging the use of CCTV networks, drone surveillance, and intelligence coordination for preventive monitoring.
In his statement, Dhami reiterated that the government stands with the victims of the Delhi tragedy and shares their grief. He assured that Uttarakhand will continue to cooperate with central agencies in maintaining peace and security across the region.
As Delhi authorities continue to investigate the cause of the explosion, the Uttarakhand government’s swift preventive measures reflect its focus on preparedness, alertness, and the safety of every citizen.
