On the occasion of Hyderabad Liberation Day today, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will hoist the flag at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
At the district level, Guardian Ministers will unfurl the national flag in their respective districts. Various programmes have also been organised to acquaint students with the sacrifices made by the martyrs of the liberation struggle.
India attained independence on 15th August 1947. Subsequently, on 17th September 1948, the Indian Army launched Operation Polo and brought Hyderabad State under the Indian Union.
Thereafter, the eight districts of Marathwada were integrated into the Republic of India. Meanwhile, today will also witness the inauguration of the Beed-Ahilyanagar railway service.
