IMD forecasts heavy rainfall over East and Peninsular India for the next 4 to 5 days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a heavy rainfall spell over East and Peninsular India during the next 4-5 days.

The IMD said that isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Assam and Meghalaya till the 16th of this month.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms at some places, with isolated heavy rainfall, is also likely over Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand till the 14th of this month.

Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Kerala, and Mahe for the next five days. Strong surface winds are also very likely to prevail over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the same period.
