Tomato price falls over 22 per cent in a month

The price of Tomato has fallen over 22 per cent in a month due to better supply.

The all-India average retail price as on 14th November was 52 rupees 35 paise per kg which is 22.4 percent lower than 67 rupees 50 paise per kg on 14th October.

During the same period, the modal prices at Azadpur mandi declined by almost 50 per cent, from 5,883 rupees per quintal to 2,969 rupees per quintal with the increase in tomato arvals.

Similar declines in mandi prices have been reported from benchmark markets such as Pimpalgaon, Madanapalle and Kolar.
