Rain and snow occurred at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on Saturday.
The weather was dry over the rest of Northwest India. Indian Meteorological Department said dense to very dense fog occurred at most places over west Uttar Pradesh, at many places over Uttarakhand, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh and west Rajasthan.
Cold day to severe cold day occurred at many places over Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places over Punjab and west Rajasthan. Met department said the cold wave occurred at a few places over Punjab and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and west Rajasthan.
The lowest minimum temperature observed in the plains of Northwest India was 2.8 degrees Celsius recorded at Bhatinda in Punjab.
