Security forces on Sunday (September 21, 2025) tracked a group of terrorists and engaged in a firefight in the Chenab Valley’s Kishtwar district in the Jammu division.

A spokesman of the Army’s White Knight Corps said the security forces established contact with the hiding terrorists in the general area of Kishtwar around 1 p.m.

“Fire was exchanged with the terrorists. The operation is in progress,” the Army said. The Army said the anti-militancy operation was launched following an intelligence input.

It is the second such anti-militancy operation in the past three days. A group of terrorists was engaged in a firefight on the Doda-udhampur belt on Friday evening. One soldier was killed in the operation. However, the terrorists apparently managed to shift the location, where they had been trapped, to another location in the jungles.

“Alert troops of the White Knight Corps, at around 1 pm today, while carrying out an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Kishtwar, have established contact with terrorists. Fire exchanged with terrorists. Operation is in progress,” said the Army’s Nagrota-based White Knight Corps on its official X handle.

This came days after Doda-Udhampur border encounter, which took place on Friday evening, injuring one soldier.
