The Dehradun Airport has officially implemented its winter flight schedule, which will remain in effect until March 28, 2026. The schedule covers flights to 11 cities, with airlines approved to operate 30 weekly departures under the new plan.
Our correspondent reports that IndiGo has been allotted 18 flight slots, Air India nine, Alliance Air two, and Air India Express one. Officials informed that while the number of destinations remains the same as last year, flight timings have been adjusted to suit winter conditions. The previous schedule had permitted 33 flights per week.
Our correspondent adds that this change is part of the Winter Schedule 2025 (WS25) issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which governs flight timings and frequencies for all domestic carriers from October 26, 2025, to March 28, 2026. The new schedule seeks to ensure optimal flight operations and better alignment with seasonal air traffic trends across the country.
Airport authorities said that although no new cities or airlines have been added in this round, the focus this year is on streamlining operations and improving the punctuality of existing services. Passengers are advised to verify their updated flight schedules before travel, as winter conditions may affect departure and arrival times.
The shift to the winter schedule coincides with increased passenger demand during the festive and holiday season. The airport management has coordinated with airlines to ensure smooth operations, efficient ground handling, and adequate passenger services throughout the winter period.
Our correspondent reports that at the national level, domestic airlines will operate over 26,000 weekly departures across 126 airports under the DGCA’s winter schedule — a rise of nearly six percent compared to last year. Dehradun Airport’s revised schedule is part of this broader network optimisation.
Authorities also stated that all necessary measures have been taken to handle fog-related disruptions and to ensure passenger comfort during the season. The airport is maintaining coordination with meteorological agencies and airline control rooms to ensure timely flight updates and smooth travel experiences.
With the implementation of the new schedule, Dehradun Airport aims to maintain its position as Uttarakhand’s primary air gateway, offering improved reliability and connectivity during the winter months.
