n a spiritually charged gathering marking Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee Year, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami received blessings and the title of ‘Dharm Sanrakshak of Devbhoomi’ (Protector of Devbhoomi’s Dharma) from prominent saints and spiritual leaders of the country. The ceremony, held at the Chief Minister’s residence in Dehradun, reflected an inspiring union of faith, culture, and governance.
Our correspondent reports that the Chief Minister’s residence transformed into a centre of divine energy and cultural harmony as saints and religious heads from across India arrived to bless him and express appreciation for the state’s efforts in cultural preservation and spiritual advancement.
Prominent spiritual leaders present included Jagadguru Shankaracharya Rajrajeshwar Maharaj, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Kailashanand Giri, Juna Peethadheeshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri, Swami Chidanand Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh), Akhada Parishad President Swami Ravindrapuri, Bageshwar Dham Peethadhishwar Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, Patanjali Yogpeeth’s Acharya Balkrishna, spiritual speaker Jaya Kishori, and author-thinker Dr Kumar Vishwas, among others.
The saints congratulated Chief Minister Dhami on Uttarakhand’s 25 years of statehood and lauded his vision for preserving Devbhoomi’s spiritual essence and traditional values. They said that under his leadership, Uttarakhand is witnessing a renaissance of faith, culture, and sustainable development.
Our correspondent adds that the saints collectively praised the state government for its focus on cultural protection, promotion of spiritual tourism, and infrastructure development around holy sites. They said the Dhami government has reinforced Uttarakhand’s identity as a sacred land of sages and spirituality.
The saints blessed the Chief Minister and hailed him as ‘Devbhoomi’s Dharm Sanrakshak’, appreciating his efforts to safeguard the Sanatan heritage and moral integrity of the state. They expressed confidence that Uttarakhand would continue to inspire the nation through its religious harmony and cultural values.
During the event, the saints and the Chief Minister discussed preparations for the upcoming Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2027, which both sides pledged to make a grand, divine, and world-class event. The saints assured their full cooperation and guidance to ensure the festival’s success.
“Kumbh is not merely a religious congregation; it is a divine confluence of Indian culture, faith, and spiritual consciousness,” said one of the saints. “The Chief Minister’s visionary leadership will ensure that Haridwar Kumbh 2027 becomes a golden chapter in the spiritual history of India.”
Our correspondent reports that the saints lauded the government’s efforts in enhancing road connectivity, riverfront beautification, public safety, sanitation, and infrastructure development for the Kumbh. They said these measures will strengthen Haridwar’s position as a global centre of spirituality and pilgrimage.
The gathering also reflected the growing recognition of Uttarakhand as a hub of spiritual and cultural development. The saints said that the state is rapidly emerging as a global destination for peace, yoga, meditation, and spiritual tourism, which aligns with the government’s long-term vision.
In his address, Chief Minister Dhami expressed gratitude to all the saints for their blessings and guidance. He said the government is committed to preserving Uttarakhand’s spiritual heritage while ensuring balanced development. “Devbhoomi is not just a land of gods; it is the heart of India’s faith and culture. With your blessings, we will continue to strengthen our traditions and promote Uttarakhand as a centre of global spirituality,” he said.
The event concluded with a joint prayer for peace, prosperity, and spiritual awakening across the nation.
