Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a Yoga Park and laid the foundation stone for several development works under Dehradun Municipal Corporation at Kedarpuram on Wednesday.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched the AI chatbot ‘Nigam Saarthi’ and unveiled the Green Policy document. He also planted a Rudraksha sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, marking the one lakhth plantation undertaken this year within Dehradun Municipal Corporation limits.
The event also witnessed the felicitation of sanitation workers and tax inspectors. A collective oath-taking ceremony against drug abuse was organised, where the Chief Minister reiterated the state’s commitment to making Uttarakhand drug-free. He highlighted that over the last three years, more than 4,000 people have been arrested for drug trafficking, with contraband worth over ₹203 crore seized.
The Chief Minister said the Yoga Park would serve as a centre for health, fitness, and community activities. He added that the government is working to establish Uttarakhand as the global capital of yoga and spirituality, noting the state’s first ‘Yoga Policy’ launched this year on International Yoga Day. Plans are also underway to set up Spiritual Economic Zones in both Garhwal and Kumaon regions to boost yoga, Ayurveda, naturopathy, and spiritual tourism.
Speaking about the government’s broader development initiatives, CM Dhami said nearly ₹1,400 crore worth of projects are being implemented to modernise Dehradun. He also reaffirmed the state’s zero-tolerance approach towards drugs, calling for collective public participation in the campaign.

Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal highlighted the initiatives of the Dehradun Municipal Corporation. Rajya Sabha MP Dr Kalpana Saini announced a one-month salary contribution and ₹1 crore from her MP fund towards rehabilitation works for disaster-affected families in Dharali, Uttarkashi.
The programme was attended by MLAs Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ and Savita Kapoor, Secretary Sridhar Babu Addanki, Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal, councillors, and officials.
