Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday held an interactive session with senior citizens and prominent residents at the District Panchayat Auditorium in Champawat, focusing on the role of elders in social progress and the government’s ongoing development initiatives in the region. The meeting was part of the Chief Minister’s continuous engagement with the public to ensure that developmental efforts align with community needs and values.

Dhami described senior citizens as the embodiment of wisdom, experience, and moral guidance, and said that their support and insights play a crucial role in shaping the vision of an ideal Uttarakhand. He said that the blessings of elders are invaluable in realising the dream of an inclusive and prosperous state.
The Chief Minister said that the government’s “Adarsh Champawat” initiative symbolises a larger vision to transform the state through transparent governance, community participation, and quality-driven development. He remarked that Adarsh Champawat is not merely a local project but a model for the entire state, representing what a self-reliant and forward-looking Uttarakhand should aspire to become.
Our correspondent adds that Dhami shared details about ongoing and completed projects in the region. He informed the gathering that works worth over ₹100 crore have already been completed in the Sipti area alone, while numerous projects are currently under construction across the district. Out of 306 announcements made so far for Champawat, 196 have been fulfilled, and the remaining projects are progressing rapidly.
The Chief Minister also announced the completion of several key initiatives, including the Science Centre, the operational launch of the new Soban Singh Jeena University campus, and the inclusion of Champawat under the Smart City Mission. He said that major projects such as the Purnagiri Ropeway, the Sharda Corridor, and the Wedding Destination Uttarakhand Scheme are advancing quickly and will help strengthen local tourism, employment, and infrastructure.
Dhami emphasised that the state government’s goal is to maintain a perfect balance between development and public welfare. He directed officials to ensure that every ongoing project is completed within the stipulated time and that transparency remains the foundation of every initiative.
The senior citizens and community leaders present expressed their appreciation for the Chief Minister’s leadership and dedication. They said that the 93 percent public mandate he received during the election is now visible in the rapid pace of development across the region. Many praised the administration’s reforms in education, healthcare, social security, and Ayurvedic medicine production, noting that these changes have improved the overall quality of life.
