Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 43 development projects worth ₹115.23 crore in Champawat district, marking a major milestone in the region’s progress. The ceremony took place at the Government Girls Inter College (GGIC), Champawat, and witnessed the participation of senior officials, public representatives, and local residents.
Our correspondent reports that the Chief Minister inaugurated 22 completed projects costing ₹51.37 crore, and laid the foundation stones for 21 new projects valued at ₹63.86 crore. These include works related to infrastructure, education, water supply, rural connectivity, and social welfare. Dhami said that these schemes would play a vital role in transforming Champawat’s developmental landscape and serve as a foundation for the government’s vision of a “Model District.”
The Chief Minister said that Champawat holds a special place as the soul of Uttarakhand, and the state government is committed to ensuring its holistic growth. He added that the new projects will enhance connectivity, improve essential public facilities, and contribute to overall economic development in the area.
Our correspondent adds that Dhami directed officials to ensure timely completion of all projects launched during the event, maintaining high standards of quality and transparency. He reiterated that balanced and sustainable growth remains the state government’s top priority and that every department must work in close coordination to deliver results on the ground.
During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with schoolgirls at the Government Girls Inter College, where the event was held. He shared a meal with them, spoke about their studies, and sought feedback on school facilities and educational opportunities. Dhami said that education is a cornerstone of development and assured continued government efforts to improve learning infrastructure across the state.
As part of the programme, Dhami also participated in a digital signature campaign under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, focusing on key social themes such as self-reliance, cleanliness, a drug-free society, water conservation, and the vision of an ideal Champawat. He said these initiatives collectively reflect the government’s broader objective of building a prosperous, responsible, and sustainable Uttarakhand.

He said that the progress achieved in Champawat is a reflection of the collective efforts of citizens, public representatives, and administrative officials working together for the region’s advancement.
Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has adopted an integrated development model that combines infrastructure expansion, economic empowerment, and environmental balance. He expressed confidence that the projects launched would act as catalysts for future growth and help achieve the vision of “Adarsh Champawat” (Ideal Champawat).
Several dignitaries were present at the event, including Shyam Narayan Pandey, Anil Dabbu, Shankar Koranga, BJP District President Govind Samant, District Panchayat Chairperson Anand Adhikari, Municipal Chairperson Prema Pandey, Block Pramukh Achala Bohra, Barakot Block Pramukh Seema Arya, BJP State Minister Nirmal Mehra, and former MLA Puran Singh Fartyal.
The Chief Minister concluded his address by reiterating that the government’s ultimate goal is to ensure inclusive, transparent, and quality-driven development in every district. He urged officials to maintain accountability and public trust by implementing each project efficiently and within the stipulated time frame.
