Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Priyanka Negi, Gram Pradhan of Sarkot, designated as a Chief Minister’s Model Village, during his visit to Bhararisain. The meeting highlighted Sarkot’s ongoing development journey and the government’s commitment to strengthening rural Uttarakhand.
Gratitude from the Village
Priyanka Negi thanked the Chief Minister for the approval and commencement of the Bhararisain–Sarkot road project, which has long been awaited by the residents, along with other development works already carried out in the village. She described these initiatives as a lifeline for improving connectivity and overall village growth.
Demands for Local Improvements
The Gram Pradhan also submitted several key requests to further improve the quality of life in Sarkot:

Solar fencing to protect farms and homes from wild animals.

Upgradation of internal village roads.

Measures to link women with self-employment opportunities for empowerment and financial independence.

Installation of solar lights on village pathways.

Appointment of paediatricians and gynaecologists at the nearby community health centre in Gairsain.
Dhami’s Assurance
CM Dhami warmly congratulated Priyanka Negi and praised her proactive leadership. He assured her that all concerns raised would be resolved in a time-bound manner, adding that directions have already been issued to the district administration and relevant departments. He further emphasised that Sarkot will serve as a model village for other parts of Uttarakhand, showcasing sustainable development and community empowerment.
