Inaugurating the Digital Uttarakhand mobile app in Dehradun today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami outlined an ambitious plan to transform the hill state into a technology-driven hub under his “Hill to Hi-Tech” vision. The app will serve as a one-stop platform for citizens to access multiple government services from their smartphones.
The launch also saw the rollout of 66 upgraded government websites, all built on a secure, standardised platform designed to improve user experience and accessibility. Dhami further introduced several technology-led governance tools, including:
- A GIS-based waste-tracking system for better urban cleanliness monitoring.
- An AI-powered CM Helpline (1905) for faster grievance redressal.
- An encroachment reporting app to empower citizens to flag illegal construction.
As part of the state’s long-term digital roadmap, Dhami announced plans for a next-generation data centre to strengthen Uttarakhand’s IT backbone. Additional initiatives include a Uttarakhand AI Mission to promote artificial intelligence solutions in governance and a drone and remote sensing application centre to enhance disaster management and planning capabilities.
Alongside this digital push, Dhami reiterated his commitment to promoting the wellness sector through AYUSH villages, with at least one planned in each district, and new yoga and wellness centres to position Uttarakhand as a global destination for Ayurveda-based healthcare.
The Chief Minister’s announcement comes against the backdrop of the BJP’s recent panchayat victories in the state, where many candidates were elected unopposed — a result party leaders say reflects strong public endorsement of Dhami’s governance and development vision.
