Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met representatives of the Uttarakhand Unemployed Association at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday, where he reiterated the state government’s commitment to fair and transparent recruitment processes. The delegation, comprising technical diploma holders, submitted a memorandum highlighting their concerns about irregularities in recruitment examinations and requesting stricter enforcement of anti-cheating measures.
The delegation, led by Association President Ram Kandwal, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the government’s recent decision to cancel an examination marred by complaints of malpractice. They thanked him for taking immediate and decisive action to uphold the integrity of the state’s recruitment system.
Our correspondent reports that Chief Minister Dhami assured the representatives that Uttarakhand will continue its policy of zero tolerance against cheating and corruption in recruitment examinations. He said that the state government has enacted India’s strictest anti-copying law, ensuring that every deserving candidate is given a fair opportunity based solely on merit.
The Chief Minister stated, “The government stands firmly with the hardworking youth of the state. Any attempt to rob them of their rights through dishonest means will not be tolerated.” He added that the government is determined to maintain transparency and accountability in all examinations conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) and other agencies.
Our correspondent adds that Dhami acknowledged the challenges faced by unemployed youth and technical diploma holders, assuring them that all future recruitment examinations will be held in a time-bound and transparent manner. He also directed officials to take strict legal action against those involved in paper leaks, cheating networks, or attempts to influence exam results.
The Chief Minister highlighted that more than 25,000 youths have secured government jobs in Uttarakhand over the past four years through fair and transparent processes. He said the state government remains committed to creating employment opportunities by accelerating recruitment and strengthening job-oriented schemes.
The meeting reflected the government’s continuing dialogue with youth organisations and its focus on restoring public faith in recruitment systems. Dhami urged the unemployed association to continue engaging positively with the administration, assuring them that their suggestions for improving the recruitment framework would be duly considered.
The representatives of the Unemployed Association thanked the Chief Minister for his proactive stance and pledged their cooperation in supporting the government’s efforts to ensure integrity and fairness in the state’s examination and recruitment system.
