Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday launched the Hello Haldwani 91.2 FM community radio mobile app from his camp office, describing it as a significant step in promoting education and culture across the state.

Our correspondent reports that the Chief Minister praised Uttarakhand Open University for extending education to remote areas and encouraging innovation through modern technology. He expressed confidence that the new app will amplify the voice of society and culture, reaching every corner of Uttarakhand and beyond.

Dhami underlined that education should not be seen merely as a means to secure degrees but as a foundation for self-reliance and direction in life. He highlighted that higher education and skill development centers are being established in all 13 districts to ensure that young people not only study but also acquire job-oriented skills.

Our correspondent adds that Dhami said when universities and skill centers work together, Uttarakhand’s youth will become job creators rather than job seekers, thereby contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The Chief Minister also announced that the government has decided to establish a major center of Uttarakhand Open University in Dehradun, which will serve as a hub for education, training, research, innovation, and digital learning.

Pushkar Singh Dhami launching the Hello Haldwani 91.2 FM appOn the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Naveen Chandra Lohani detailed the university’s initiatives and handed over a cheque of ₹1.49 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for disaster relief. The event was attended by Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, UCOST Director General Prof. Durgesh Pant, University Registrar Khemraj Bhatt, and senior officials of the university.
